I was recently gifted an Audio-Technica AT-LPW30TK turntable for my birthday. It’s beautiful! I’ve been trying to acquire vinyl copies of albums I love.

These are the records I currently have:

  1. Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan Stevens
  2. The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
  3. Texas Sun by Khruangbin and Leon Bridges
  4. Good Thing by Leon Bridges
  5. Random Access Memories by Daft Punk
  6. In Rainbows by Radiohead
  7. Kala by M.I.A

(I also have a few other records I got for $1 from the nearby used record store but they’re mostly for the vibes.)

It’s a charming constraint, having to listen to the whole album and not being able to switch between tracks easily. I like how it centers the album as the unit of music. On the downside, I’m trying to avoid vinyls that only have 2-3 songs per side; that’s a bit too much effort.

These are some albums I’m looking for:

  1. Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
  2. Modern Vampires Of The City by Vampire Weekend
  3. OK Computer by Radiohead
  4. Anything by The Beatles
  5. Anything else by Leon Bridges
