🎵 Vinyl
I was recently gifted an Audio-Technica AT-LPW30TK turntable for my birthday. It’s beautiful! I’ve been trying to acquire vinyl copies of albums I love.
These are the records I currently have:
- Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan Stevens
- The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
- Texas Sun by Khruangbin and Leon Bridges
- Good Thing by Leon Bridges
- Random Access Memories by Daft Punk
- In Rainbows by Radiohead
- Kala by M.I.A
(I also have a few other records I got for $1 from the nearby used record store but they’re mostly for the vibes.)
It’s a charming constraint, having to listen to the whole album and not being able to switch between tracks easily. I like how it centers the album as the unit of music. On the downside, I’m trying to avoid vinyls that only have 2-3 songs per side; that’s a bit too much effort.
These are some albums I’m looking for:
- Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
- Modern Vampires Of The City by Vampire Weekend
- OK Computer by Radiohead
- Anything by The Beatles
- Anything else by Leon Bridges
